How are the written exams scored?

In the LTE A1-B1 exam, the overall score and language level are established based on candidates’ performance in Listening and Reading.

The candidate's overall score is not the average of the scores achieved in each of the two parts of the test (Listening and Reading), nor does it directly and solely correspond to the proportion of correct/incorrect responses. The final overall result is calculated from the correct responses to all the questions in the test, taking into account the level of difficulty of each question.

All candidates receive a certificate stating their scores per skill and their overall score. A CEFR level from A1-B1 is also stated in the certificate based on the overall score achieved. Only candidates whose performance falls below A1 level (less than 10 points) do not receive a certificate.
